 Back to the foundations of the earth

When you understand the things we have discussed above, you’ll more readily accept that the earth has foundations. Let us look at a few verses that mention the earth’s foundations.

Jer 31:37  Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. 

The Lord mentions two impossible things for us to demonstrate that He will never cast off Israel. Measuring the heavens above or searching out the foundations of the earth beneath is impossible for us – just as it is impossible for Him to cast of all the seed of Israel.

Psa 18:15  Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils. 

In Proverbs we have verses talking about the time the Lord strengthened the fountains of the deep and appointed the foundations of the earth.

Pro 8:28  When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: 

Pro 8:29  When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

Mic 6:2  Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel. 

Isa 40:21  Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? 

Psa 104:5  Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
