Biblical Proof of Flat Earth - part 2
The bottomless pit
Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come
down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in
his hand.
Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the
dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a
thousand years,
Rev 20:3 And cast him into the
bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should
deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and
after that he must be loosed a little season.
The very word ‘bottomless’ is an
indication that this hole goes into ground that is infinite. It also leads us
to believe that the earth is anchored into this ground because the angel opens
the door of the pit from the earth.
I believe that this bottomless
pit or abyss runs from the earth into whatever the earth is anchored into
beneath the earth. This truth expressed in the Bible is completely incompatible
with a globe theory.
The globe theory is pure
imagination without any truth supporting it.
Luke 8:31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
Let us talk about what in terms of living beings or things lie under the
earth.
The door to the abyss is on the earth and this is indicated in Rev
20:1 and also in Rev. 9.
Rev 9:2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of
the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened
by reason of the smoke of the pit.
Looking further into Revelation 9
we find other creatures.
Rev 9:14 Saying
to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound
in the great river Euphrates.
It must
be a huge place because they lead out an army of 200 million horsemen. The
horses have heads like lions and out of their mouths come fire, smoke and
sulphur. Their tails are like serpents with heads.
Again
notice the organization of this army as well as its size. This is an army residing somewhere below the Euphrates river! Can this by any stretch of our imagination be possible on a globe earth?
In case all this seems like it is figurative language, remember this verse in Philippians:
All these creatures
that we have seen are subject to our Lord Jesus Christ and they bow at His
name. But more to the point of our discussion is their mention in the verse
above.
The beast we first
dealt with is destructive, the locust army is destructive and the four angels
and their cavalry are destructive. We can thus deduce that whatever is coming
from under the earth is destructive and dedicated to man’s destruction.
However as we have
said they are all subject to God and to our Lord Jesus Christ. Even the beast
in Revelation 13 only rules because he was given authority over the earth by
our Lord for that particular time.
