The death of a believer in Christ Jesus

The death of a believer in Christ Jesus What happens when a believer dies? Falling Asleep This is a term that is used frequently in the Bible to describe the death of a saint. You'll find it used by Jesus and the apostles. Let us consider a few scriptures which bring tremendous hope to everyone who believes in Jesus. The Bible clearly tells us that believers don't die but go home to be with the Lord. Paul said that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. There are numerous examples of saints who have died physically but are alive in heaven. We shall see this in the study below. Lazarus raised John 11:25   Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:   John 11:26   And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?   Our verse of concern is the underlined one above. In it our Lord tells us that those who are alive and believe ...

Election - God personally chose you

Election - the called Rom 8:28   And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  This is an exclusive verse that applies to a special group of people who are referred to as " the called ". Who are these special people? We shall come to them shortly. The word “ called ” here is translated as “ appointed, specifically the saints ” . The plan for your salvation did not begin on the day that you believed in Jesus Christ .   It was a plan designed long before you were born. We shall see this as we look into this further. Christian Giving - Stop Being Manipulated!

About giving Giving is a good practice for a Christian to engage in. I heard a preacher telling his large congregation to give generously because if they sowed sparingly they would reap sparingly. He quoted 2Corinthians 9:6. If you hear this you'll automatically feel that what God gives you is based on what you give Him. Actually if you think about it it is like a pyramid scheme. You give and you get back. The more money you give, the more that you will get back. That is certainly the impression created by the preacher when he made this statement to his congregants. What was actually going on in 2Corinthians 9? Consider verse 1-8 2Co r 9:7   Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.  Paul urges the believers to be generous in their giving of alms for the suffering church. verse 12 tells us what the collection of this money is toward. 2Co 9:12   For the administr...
