Are you wondering who to trust? Only God can be trusted

Only God can be trusted As you grow in your walk as a believer you'll realize that the only One you can truly depend on is God. The closer that you draw to God, the more you'll be able to detach yourself from the things of this world. It is a painful thing when those you thought you could depend on let you down. Yet they will do it at some point in your life. Many who have walked with the Lord have experienced this far too often. It could be someone as close as your spouse, or your children, a sibling, parent or friend who rejects you, or doesn’t want to see you or has little sympathy when you’re going through a trial. However you are not alone in this. Many believers in the Bible experienced the same. See the examples below and take heart because you are not alone. Our Lord’s Experience Luke 22:39-46 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye

Heaven - The Hope of Every Believer

Heaven - The Hope of Every Believer When we look at the lives of believers from the past, one of the things that is quite clear is that tomorrow was never promised. There was never the guarantee that one would be alive the following day. Many of them lived under great persecution and thus heaven was the escape that they constantly longed for. It was a release from the torments that they faced each day. A look at Foxe's Book of Martyrs or Dave Hunt's "A Woman Rides the Beast" reveals the heavy persecution that believers endured throughout the past. The following excerpts give a brief glimpse into what was happening. Pagan Rome made sport of throwing to the lions, burning and otherwise killing thousands of Christians and not a few Jews. Yet "Christian" Rome slaughtered many times that number of both Christians and Jews. Beside those victims of the Inquisition, there were Huguenots, Albigenses, Waldenses, and other Christians who were massacred, tortu

The death of a believer in Christ Jesus

The death of a believer in Christ Jesus What happens when a believer dies? Falling Asleep This is a term that is used frequently in the Bible to describe the death of a saint. You'll find it used by Jesus and the apostles. Let us consider a few scriptures which bring tremendous hope to everyone who believes in Jesus. The Bible clearly tells us that believers don't die but go home to be with the Lord. Paul said that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. There are numerous examples of saints who have died physically but are alive in heaven. We shall see this in the study below. Lazarus raised John 11:25   Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:   John 11:26   And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?   Our verse of concern is the underlined one above. In it our Lord tells us that those who are alive and believe in Him shall nev
